Data Retention & Management

How long we keep your data and when we delete it

Account Data

  • Active accounts:
    Retained while account exists
  • Deleted accounts:
    30 days grace period, then permanent deletion
  • Inactive accounts:
    3 years before deletion notice

Activity Data

  • Disaster alerts:
    2 years (families may reference past events)
  • "Mark safe" history:
    1 year
  • App usage logs:
    2 years (anonymous analytics)

Technical Data

  • Payment records:
    7 years (tax/legal requirements)
  • Privacy consent:
    3 years (compliance documentation)
  • Security logs:
    3 years (standard security practice)

What We Don't Do
